This position is responsible for the development of reconciliations and coordination of Pension and Benefit Trusts. Using large amounts of data to develop and reconcile employee/retiree/LTD census to be used for Medicare Part D Subsidy, outside Auditors and Actuary. Reviewing accounting entries independently conducts research and verification of expense data. Proactively develops and maintains Medicare Part D data bases. Preparing various govern reports and auditing Financial Statements for Pension and PRB Plans.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in training with other FBA accountants on benefit deduction reconciliation.
  • Ensures accuracy of records by reconciliation of internal and external Pension Plans and Trust activity.
  • Ensures accuracy in the HCSC Wage Works Commuter Program.
  • Reconciles Pension and Benefit Restoration monthly payments for HCSC and outside Actuarial Firm.
  • Prepares reporting of Retiree/LTD membership information.
  • Supports controls of Retiree Health Plans by comparing enrollment to Medicare census and communicates when related eligibility has changed.
  • Develop and maintain database on Medicare D Drug Subsidy
  • Prepares Financial Statements for Pension Plans and Post Retirement Benefit Plans.  Provides guidance and reporting backup for outside auditors and actuaries.  
  • Uses identified accumulated, reconciled information to coordinate the preparation of ERISA 5500s government reporting.  Identifies and prepares required compliance disclosures. (SAR and 8955 SSA)
  • Coordinates filing of Pension Plans 990’s and 990T with VEBA Trust
  • Provide information and coordinates support and analysis for audits including ERISA audit, includes statistical analysis of variances to prior years Financial Statements.
  • Performs annual overall reconciliation of Flexible Spending Health and Dependent Care accounts.

Required Job Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor degree and 4 years accounting experience OR 8 years accounting experience.
  • Workday Financials experience.
  • Experience in Oracle Financials.
  • Analytical and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Government ERISA Reporting
  • Experience with Trust oversight
  • Experience assisting with projects and ability to manage multiple projects at same time.
  • Verbal and written communication skills including grammar, appropriate word choice, conciseness, appropriate tone and content for audience.
  • PC experience and skills in Word and Advanced Excel skills

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Master degree with emphasis in Accounting, Math or Computer Science.
  • Group health claims systems experience.
  • Workday HR systems experience
