Network Business Solutions (NBS) at HCSC is a strategic shared service that aligns, accelerates, and translates network strategies into tangible value impacts. Join the NBS team, where we leverage cutting-edge data science and AI technologies to ensure health care access and value for our members. The Lead Data Science Product Manager at NBS will own one or more data science, AI, and engineering products and will operate independently. As the primary owner of a product, they will work closely with customers and other product managers to understand their needs and translate these needs into a data science/AI product that adds business value. They will be able to develop use cases, define design requirements, understand the importance of various product features, prioritize development, and coordinate across all interested stakeholders. They will promote usage and understanding of the product across a broad audience. They are ultimately responsible and accountable for the successful delivery and implementation of the product. As needed, they will assist with data science and engineering tasks. Data scientists, data and AI engineers working on a product will have an indirect reporting relationship to the product manager.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree and 5 years of work experience in a mathematical, statistical, computer science, engineering, physics, economics or related quantitative field OR Actuarial credential or Master degree and 4 years of work experience in an advanced mathematical, statistical , engineering, physics or related quantitative field OR Ph.D. and 2 years of work experience in a mathematical, statistical, computer science, engineering, physics, economics or related quantitative field OR 8 years of work experience in an advanced mathematical, statistical , engineering, physics or related quantitative field
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in at least four of the following six areas: 1) data analysis and relational-style query languages; 2) machine learning and/or statistical modeling; 3) data visualization; 4) a high-level programming language; 5) distributed computing; 6) understanding of healthcare.

  • A track record of independently delivering or leading the delivery of multiple complex analytics or data science projects


Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in a quantitative field, or a Bachelor's degree with significant healthcare experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience with Iterative, Agile, or Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience with AI and MLOps best practices.
  • Experience with developing and managing strategic roadmaps for AI, data science and/or infrastructure projects
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, AI, data science, and business stakeholders, to achieve project goals.
  • Capability to champion data science engineering and AI needs, advocating for best practices and patterns.
  • Ability to monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform product strategy and development.

This is a Flex (Hybrid) role: 3 days in office; 2 days remote.

** For acquired employees, employee must have been with the Company and in their current role for at least 12 months following closing of the acquisition.  Prior service with the acquired company is not recognized for this purpose.

Additional exceptions may apply in accordance to our union contract with Teamsters 743.
