This position is responsible for providing legal advice, support, and coordination more complex legal matters or projects; representing the company in detailed or difficult litigation and administrative proceedings; providing legal support to divisional management on specific business issues; representing the company in dealings with applicable regulatory bodies and government agencies; and providing advice and guidance to less experienced attorneys as required. Additionally, this is an opportunity for a motivated lawyer to provide counsel relating to complex contracting, including vendor, provider network, producer/customer and strategic sourcing contracting. In a highly complex and evolving legal and technology environment, the ideal candidate will provide sound, actionable legal advice on regulatory, business, and operational matters. A successful candidate will serve as a partner to our business leaders in developing adaptive strategies to support HCSC’s established business and to further its growth while continually advancing HCSC’s mission. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: · Provide legal support on moderately complex projects relating to corporate contracts. · Provide legal support on more routine day-to-day business matters with reasonable degree of independence. · Possess strong and proven negotiation skills. · Work proactively with business and legal partners to identify and address potential regulatory, legal and business risks. · Exercise judgment and ability to manage competing deadlines. · Provide functional advice and guidance to legal support staff when assigned. · Collaborate with legal colleagues to identify legal issues with potential cross-functional impact. · Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, and other stakeholders. · Demonstrate ability and interest in learning and willingness to take on new challenges. · Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies, and other applicable corporate and departmental policies. · Maintain complete confidentiality of business information. The position can be based in Chicago, Illinois; Richardson, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Helena, Montana, or Nashville, Tennessee. Please note this role is a hybrid role. This requires in-office hours 3 days a week at the respective office location. Sponsorship is not available for this position.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Juris Doctor Degree and a license to practice law in the state where the legal department is located.
* 8 years experience as an attorney with demonstrated understanding/experience of the health care or insurance field.
* Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
* Negotiations and diplomacy skills.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* 3-5 years recent experience in health care law and/or insurance law.
