Advanced Analytics Consultant – Health Economics Team (HET) PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Health Economics Team (HET) is seeking a candidate to fulfill the Analytics Consultant position in its Chicago, Dallas, and Austin offices. An Analytics Consultant’s primary responsibility is to leverage strong technical skills (SQL, R, Python, and Tableau) and healthcare industry knowledge (payor, provider, pharmacy, public health, epidemiology, etc.) to conduct client-facing engagements with HCSC’s largest Enterprise National Accounts (ENAs). Specific responsibilities may include: • Performing research into various healthcare-related topics (diagnoses, treatments, cost of care, health policies, population health, plan design, provider quality and efficiency, and other social and market forces to help evaluate clients’ strategic decisions and operational outcomes • Understanding and being highly proficient at querying a wide variety of healthcare data and related population data (medical/pharmacy claims, behavioral health claims, health care management (HCM) records, electronic medical records (EMR), provider databases (AMA, NPI, DEA, etc.), member/patient demographic data, and publicly available databases (U.S. Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, NIH, etc.) in order to construct a robust, accurate, 360-view data environment that is unique to each client • Employing techniques such as a case-control study, regression analyses, principal component analyses, clustering exercises, propensity scoring, classification, ROI calculation, etc. to produce actionable insights • Creating a dynamic and visually engaging dashboard in Tableau • Presenting work to and holding regular touch-base meetings with clients • Helping to maintain a strong and collaborative matrixed team between client, various internal stakeholders (account management, care management, clinical, pharmacy, network, etc.), and other third parties (vendors, brokers, and consultants)

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree and 3 years experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics including 1 year experience in data analysis and information reporting relating to healthcare data, including pharmacy OR 7 years experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics including 1 year experience in data analysis and information reporting relating to healthcare data, including pharmacy.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge and experience
