Team members of the procurement SRG team work together to manage and maintain the overall health of the SRG program at HCSC. This position will work on the development and implementation of the governance and compliance program across the enterprise and help define program strategies, identify and build working relationships with existing and new program stakeholders and seek collaboration on the SRG framework. The team member will conduct oversight of new and existing processes with key SRG stakeholders, such as contract managers and provide ownership support to HCSC’s supplier risk governance tools portfolio. As a SME in supplier management, the Sr. Advisor role will also work with, guide, advise the different divisions and business units on compliance to the SRG framework. The team member will also have significant stewardship over the HCSC Risk and Criticality segmentation framework to ensure the appropriate levels of supplier governance are executed by HCSC supplier management teams on their respective supplier base. Additional responsibilities include driving due diligence with financial viability and other supplier inherent risk levers. The SRG team member is responsible for training and mentoring junior team members and implementing the identified opportunities directly alongside management. A candidate for this role must be comfortable in a high performing and fast-moving team, have demonstrated ability to foster business critical relationships and provide oversight of large-scale programs involving multiple enterprise stakeholders, have a strong process background and worked on continuous improvements initiatives. The candidate should also be comfortable tackling multiple high visibility projects in parallel.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • College Degree in Business or Finance, or 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Expert knowledge of vendor management processes
  • Effective team and peer leadership and influence; strategic thinker who is energized by change and impact.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and skills to participate and be effective in vendor interactions and vendor management with industry suppliers.
  • Experience developing, reviewing contracts and recommending improvements.
  • Extensive Knowledge of vendor management best practices (specific performance management, risk, compliance, and audit vendor processes).
  • Analytical skills and business acumen to determine how to best leverage deal points.
  • Conflict resolution skills.

  • Extensive experience in project management and contract negotiation.
  • Extensive experience developing presentations and presenting to management and other internal groups.

Preferred Job Qualifications: 

  • 8 - 12 years of experience in supplier management, strategic sourcing and contract negotiation, or higher level education (e.g. MBA)
  • Knowledge of HCSC organization
  • Knowledge of Business Process Outsourcing or Information Technology Outsourcing
  • Knowledge of Insurance industry
  • 3-5 years’ experience with contract/supplier management tool
