This University New Grad role can be located in either Chicago, IL or Richardson, TX

What Does the Associate Underwriter Role Entail?

This position is responsible for quoting and rating proposals and renewal projections and approving cases within established authority guidelines.

What Are the Requirements You Must Meet?

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree within a business field Graduation date between December 2024-June 2025
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and virtual team collaboration tools 
  • Clear, Concise Verbal and written communication 
  • Uses existing procedures to solve routine or basic problems
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States (currently, we are not offering this program under OPT or CPT and are not sponsoring work visas for this role) 

What Do You Need to Be Successful?

  • Math skills: the four basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, division & multiplication) and the ability to estimate for mathematical reasonableness
  • interpersonal skills: Ability to establish and maintain business relationships.
  • Independent judgment and problem resolution skills.
  • Work management skills: the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time and workload to meet deadlines.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of health care products and covered eligibility.
  • Knowledge of state and federal legislation governing underwriting practices.
